Additions

I added to my sewing wall today since I felt the wall just didn't look balanced. I had added the paper-piecing star to the collection, but something was missing. Today, I realized that I had a couple of drawers leftover from the one old cabinet that got trashed (treadle was used for the Singer 201). It dawned on me that I could use one of the drawers for a shelf. Took me no more than five minutes to hang the drawer and then another twenty minutes figuring out what I wanted to display on it. Works for me now!

A Spotlight on Link

I tried a different quilting pattern than I stated I was going to do with this quilt since I was unable to figure out how to quilt the Triforce pattern. Yes, I took the easy way out.  Instead, I quilted rays emerging from all four corners to give a look of spotlights on Link.

Red thread is the basting thread which was removed after quilting was completed.

Quilt was washed to remove red tailors chalk lines before adding binding.

Link now hangs above my son's bed. Yes, that is a silver wall.

Pixel Art Quilt

My son made a request for a mini quilt.  It's Link from Legend of Zelda!
Now I have to figure out how I'm going to quilt this one. I'm thinking of quilting triangles to form the Triforce symbol from the game.

An Honor to the Ladies

When I saw this pattern at Charise Creates, I just knew I had to make one for myself. This a very fun paper-piecing project!  I did change a couple of places in my project.  For example, a couple of fabric sections at the bottom of the hanging fabric were deleted just because I was a wee bit lazy in my paper-piecing.  Instead, I added some pink embroidery threads to the pink spool of thread. I know that pink thread doesn't match the fabric's colors, but I decided to use a pink colored spool for the design because I do my testing of ideas and quilting designs with my stash of very old pink thread.

I also added with colored copper pencil the words Two Spools along with the Eldredge Two Spools motif on the machine. Since my favorite decal motif is the Eldredge Two Spools, I went with that design to honor my vintage machines for this project. The design doesn't show up very well when photographed. This image reminds me of an uncleaned machine waiting to have its decals discovered by the person cleaning the machine for use.

The scissors is a button that I found at JoAnn's.  This mini quilt hangs alongside the mini color wheel quilt that is hanging on the wall above my quilting notions table.

I was able to fix the writing with a Sharpie gold marker designed to work on dark backgrounds.

My Color Wheel

I fell in love with this color wheel pattern that I had seen on another gal's blog. So yes, I copied it!

 Four sections were paper-pieced using the New York Beauty block.

 This was my first time working with curves.  Thank God I have the treadle so that I could slow the speed down to one stitch at a time while attaching the curved pieces together.  That was the hardest part in assembling the quilt.  The inner circle of colors is if adding white to the colors. I used scraps fabrics, and yellows were a challenge since I don't have too many yellows in my collection.

 I used my Singer 201 for the paper-piecing.  Eldredge Two Spools for some of the quilting in the middle black circle since the Two Spools foot has the perfect 1/4in. foot, left side and right side of foot.  The Davis NVF was used for quilting and binding; and lastly, my newest machine Singer 224 for the decorative arrows to finish off the binding.  This wall quilt will sit above my sewing notion area in my "command center".  This was such a fun project!!
