My quilt in progress. There are presently 792 small squares. When complete, there will be 1080 small squares- unless I add another row. This quilt top is coming together much faster then I had expected.
The back side will take much longer since I will be cutting out each state to make a map of the US.
It is looking good. I am making the same quilt. I just finished the cutting of the strips today. Mine will be 64 blocks to make it queen sized. Like you mine is being made for my queen bed in my RV. We got a new RV in November and the quilt for my other RV is double sized so too small.................small world!
ReplyDeleteHi and thanks for posting! My husband and I purchased our first RV this past October. I have a couple of my quilts already in the RV, which are used to keep legs warm while sitting around the table on those cold winter nights. We took our daughter on a recent camping trip where the evening temperature dropped to low 40s, possibly upper 30s. Having the quilts to keep us warm while playing Monopoly was wonderful. It was during that evening that I got the idea for the Trip Around the Word quilt. Wow! A queen size is a huge project, but it should be fun since it sounds like you are using the same technique for piecing. I'm looking forward to seeing you quilt. My RV blog is Tootling Around, http://tootlingaroundamt.blogspot.com/2015/01/reminiscing-on-final-days-of-2014.html.
DeleteHi, I just want to tell you how much I am enjoying your blog! We have some of the same sewing machines, and I didn't know you could treadle a Supernova - dangerous information to have! Love your scrappy Round the World quilt and the Half-Hexi one is gorgeous - very inspiring! I'd like to find the patterns for those if you could send me in the right direction that'd be great! I'm on TreadleOn too, but not sure if we've met there yet. -Kim in So Cal at 4300 ft.
